Welcome to the Lido Summer Holiday Programme
Be part of the exciting Summmer Holiday Programme at Lido Aquatic Centre Chill Out for your school-aged child. With a thrilling range of activities that includes an Movies, Day Rave, Baking, Bowling, out of town trips and so much more. This school holiday programme has something for everyone.
We are open from 6.30am - 6:00pm every day. An extra charge of $5.00 applies if your child/children will attend the programme before 8:00am. We ask that all children are onsite by 9:00am for roll call every day, unless specified in the activity details that require us to leave earlier. Please check the activities you have booked for every day to ensure you do not miss any important details and that your child/children come to the programme prepared each day.
OSCAR Subsidy
We are OSCAR and WINZ approved, meaning you may be eligible for a payment subsidy. You could save up to 80% on your fees if not more! We encourage you to visit us at the facility for us to fill in your forms. We strongly encourage those parents/caregivers who are applying for WINZ subsidies to start this process early to avoid disappointment. We are happy to email your forms directly to WINZ when they are completed and your deposit is paid. All WINZ bookings require a deposit to be paid per booking which is $40 per child for School Holiday Programme. If deposits are not paid prior to the commencement of the holiday booking, your booking cannot be approved. Bookings will remain on the ‘Pending’ status until payment/deposit has been made.
Important Enrolment Information
- All children are required to show “school behaviours” such as being able to change themselves, and using the toilet unassisted. Staff are unable to assist with helping children get changed or help with toileting due to child protection policies.
- Enrolments will not be approved if there are outstanding fees on previous bookings. If there is an unpaid fee/s for a previous booking, a new booking cannot be approved until fees are paid in full.
- Bookings must be completed in full on the Online Booking System: www.chilloutkids.co.nz.
Day to Day Important Information
Everyday your child/children must have plenty of food for the day, which includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea as well as a refillable drink bottle. It's also important that your child/children wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the day's activitiy. Please also send them with their swimming attire (togs, towel and goggles) as we will swim at :ido Aquatic Centre or offsite pool (if it is in the day's activity plan). We require your child/children to be able to dress themselves before and after swimming.
Enrolments fill up fast so get in quick and early to confirm your child’s place on the programme.

Challenges + Swimming
Ages 5-14 onlyCome spend the morning enjoying some challenges and tasks, a great activity for those creative minds! We will then head to the pool for a swim.
Park and Swimming
Ages 5-14 onlyToday we will head to the park for a play and enjoy being outside. We will then head back to Lido for lunch and games, we'll also head to the pool for a refreshing swim.
Kitchen Creations
Ages 5-14 onlyLet's get Creative in the kitchen, what can we come up with! Lotso of ingredients for you to get creative with. How will it turn out and will it even taste good!
Christmas Crafts
Ages 5-14 onlyLet's get creative and see what cool and fun Christmas decorations we can make, you can then take these home to display on your own Christmas Tree! We'll then bake some yummy treats and enjoy a swim too.
Christmas Movie + Swimming
Ages 5-14 onlyWe'll be playing a Christmas Classic today at Chill Out with some yummy treats. We will then have time at the park afterwards to run around and burn off that energy. To finish the day with a dip in the water.
Esplanade + Swimming
Ages 5-14 onlyWe are down to 3 sleeps before Christmas arrives, let's head to the Esplanade to spend time on the playground and in nature. Before returning to The Lido Aquatic Centre to enjoy swimming in both the indoor and outdoor pools. Leaving 10.00am returning 3pm.
Ashhurst Adventure
Ages 5-14 onlyWe are hitting the road and heading to Ashhurst to enjoy our time at the domain where we will enjoy the playground field games and have a BBQ lunch too. We will then head to Splashhurst Pool to have a swim and cool off before heading back to the Lido . Leaving 9.30am returning 3pm.
Christmas Party
Ages 5-14 onlyIt’s time to celebrate the festive season together! We’ll be enjoying a Christmas lunch put on by our friends at Freyberg Chill Out will play games and have some crafts for you to do. Let’s finish the year with plenty of laughter, good food, and Christmas cheer! WE CLOSE AT 4PM TODAY
New Years Party
Ages 5-14 onlyWelcome to Chill Out 2026! We will be running our own countdown, creating our own decorations, enjoying party games and taking snaps in our Photo Booth! We will also be providing lunch and taking the kids for a swim at. What a way to start the New Year!
Herb Farm
Ages 5-8 onlyToday we are off to the Herb Farm where we can put our designing skills to the test, who can make the best ‘healing product’ which we get to take home and try out. We will then stop at Ashurst Domain for a quick play and lunch.
Senior Science Day
Ages 9-14 onlyToday is a day where we may get a bit messy! We are going to get hands on and do some awesome science experiments. We will make volcanos, see what happens when you add mentos to coke, and other awesome challenges! In the afternoon we’ll cool off in the pools.
Dayrave
Ages 5-14 onlyWe will start the day off with a visit to The Esplanade to burn off some early morning energy, before we head back to the Lido for the best Pool Party in Palmerston North! Jump in the pool and get ready to play a variety of fun water-based games with awesome prizes up for grabs! Make sure you bring your togs for a swimming-filled day
Junior Science Day
Ages 5-8 onlyToday is a day where we may get a bit messy! We are going to get hands on and do some awesome science experiments. We will make volcanos, see what happens when you add mentos to coke, and other awesome challenges! In the afternoon we’ll cool off in the pools.
The Cave
Ages 9-14 onlyWe are off to The Cave! We will play lots of exciting games, including Virtual Reality and racing! We will then head back to the Lido and join the juniors for a dip in the pool.
Park Crawl
Ages 5-14 onlyWe are going to hit up some of the best parks around Palmerston North! We will spend time playing on the playground, kicking a ball around with our mates, before heading back to the Lido for a BBQ lunch and a swim in the pools.
Team Building
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for a fun-filled day! We will play some fun games, do some exciting challenges, and work together to solve some awesome puzzles! After this we will go for a swim in the afternoon to cool off.
Game Started
Ages 9-14 onlyJoin us for a fun time at Game Started where will take each other on in a game of Lasertag, as well as enjoying some of the other awesome activities that Game Started has to offer. After a morning of dodging and running around we will go for a swim at the Lido to relax
Chipmunks + Splashurst
Ages 5-8 onlyWe are off to Chipmunks for a play on the awesome playgrounds that they offer! After a morning full of playing we will head off to Splashurst for a dip in their pools.
Foxton Pool
Ages 5-8 onlyWe are heading to Foxton! We are going to the awesome local pool for a dip before we meet up with the senior kids for lunch and a play at the park.
Off The Loop
Ages 9-14 onlyJoin us as we jump in the vans for a short drive to Foxton! We will be going to Off the Loop, an awesome water park! Afterwards we are going to meet up with the juniors for lunch and a run around at the park.
Movies
Ages 5-14 onlyToday we will put our feet back and relax as we enjoy a movie at the Event Cinemas. The afternoon will be spent in the pool and playing some group games.
Chill Out Summer Splash
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us at the best Aquatic Centre in the North Island… The Lido! We will enjoy everything the Lido has to offer, including the outdoor hydro slides and the diving pool for those old enough. We will also play some cool pool games with prizes up for grabs. You don’t want to forget your togs for this one.
Amazing Race
Ages 5-14 onlyWe will be unlocking our competitive spirit today! Let’s race around Palmerston North trying to beat the other teams to complete this awesome amazing race! We will then spend the afternoon relaxing in the pool to cool off.
Day Rave
Ages 5-14 onlyToday is the last Day Rave before we head back to school! We will spend the day playing the awesome pool-based games, and hopefully we can win a few of the prizes!
Sports Day
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for a day of sports! We will play a variety of different team sports, Whether it’s staff vs Kids or Lido vs Freyberg who can come out on top ! After a busy morning of play we will jump into the pool to cool off
Timezone
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready for a day full of fun, take on your friends to see who can get the highest score in some classic and modern arcade games. After a fun filled morning, we will head back to the Lido for some baking and swimming.
Cloud 9 + Freyberg
Ages 5-14 onlyWe are heading to Cloud 9 in the morning to burn off our morning energy! Join us and show off your awesome flips and tricks on the trampoline! Once we’re finished at Cloud 9, we will head over to Freyberg where we can cool off after a morning of jumping
Junglerama
Ages 5-8 onlyWe are off to Wellington for a fun play at Junglerama! There will be something for everyone to enjoy here! We will then stop for lunch at Avalon Park before hopping back into the vans to get to the Lido. Leaving at 8am sharp and return by 4:00pm.
H2O Xtreme
Ages 9-14 onlyWe will be off to H2O Xtreme to enjoy all their facility has to offer! Bring your togs so you don’t miss out on the famous wave pool or the thrilling hydroslides! We will have a stop at Maidstone Park for lunch before we head back to the Lido.
Bowling
Ages 5-14 onlyOff to another Chill Out classic! We will put our bowling skills to the test and see who will come out on top! After that we will head back to the Lido for a swim before getting into a bit of baking to relax in the afternoon.
Back to School Party
Ages 5-14 onlyIn preparation of school starting soon, we will be getting involved with games and crafts with a school theme, also school lunch on us, We will finish the day with a Colour Run. Don't forget your white clothes.
In- House Movies
Ages 5-14 onlyWe have made it through the Summer School Holidays! Before we head back to school we will take the last day to just relax and unwind with your friends enjoy a few in- house movies, treats, the pools, outdoor slide for those older enough.
