Welcome to the Lido School Holiday Programme
Be part of the exciting September-October School Holiday Programme at Lido Aquatic Centre Chill Out for your school-aged child. With a thrilling range of activities that includes an Movies, Day Rave, Baking, Bowling, out of town trips and so much more. This school holiday programme has something for everyone.
At Lido Chill Out our goal is to create a warm and inviting atmosphere in which kids to come together, explore new activities, forge new relationships and, make unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime!
The programme operates from 8 am to 6 pm and can be extended with beforecare (6:30 am to 8am) for a extra $5.00. Please note if your child is absent refunds are only given with 72 hours’ notice during the School Holidays. If your child is sick on the day full charge will apply. Fees must be paid in advance as per our Terms and Conditions on our website.
For the upcoming week, children must come prepared with a hat, a drink bottle, a large lunch and sunscreen. Additionally, they must bring their swimwear every day. Alternative activities will be offered for kids who do not swim.
We are MSD-approved, and WINZ subsidies are also available for families in our community – you could save up to 80% on your fees if not more! We encourage you to visit us at the Centre for us to fill in your forms. Applications are in high demand, with WINZ forms needing to be completed and a $40 deposit collected per child before a booking is confirmed.

Wheels Day
Ages 5-8 onlyScooters, roller skates, bikes! Anything with wheels is accepted today (just remember it must fit in the van!) We’re heading to The Esplanade to explore what we can do on our wheels. After all that exploring and showing off your tricks we will head back the Lido for a nice cooling swim, and some groups challenges NO helmet, NO wheels today.
Feel The Burn!
Ages 9-14 onlyAfter completing some morning challenges we will head down to meet our friends at the Palmy Powerhouse for some fitness challenges and a workout. After working up a sweat we will head back to the pool for a swim and more games!
Bad Guys 2 at Event Cinemas
Ages 5-14 onlyToday we head to Event Cinemas to watch Bad Guys 2 on the big screen along with our friends from Freyberg Chill Out. A small drink and popcorn will be provided to help us enjoy the movie. Afterwards, we will head back to Freyberg Community Pool for a refreshing swim. We will be leaving Chill Out no later than 9:30am and will be back by 3pm.
Lido Bake Off
Ages 9-14 onlyStrap up those aprons, put on those chef hats and let’s get creative in the kitchen, what can we come up with and how good will our cooking taste and look?! Join us for a fun day of baking and of course eating!
Levin Adventure
Ages 5-8 onlyJump aboard the chill Out vans as we head down to Levin for a day of fun! We’ll spend the morning at Levin Adventure Park before heading to the Levin Aquatic Centre for a swim. We will have a bit of a surprise for lunch! Leaving at 9.30am, returning at 4pm.
Character Day
Ages 5-8 onlyCalling all princesses, superheroes, movie character, or book characters! Come dressed up and enjoy a magical day at the Lido Kingdom where you can build forts and zoom around like a superhero trying to save the day. There will be small hidden characters indoors for you to find to earn yourself a spot prize!
Time Zone
Ages 9-14 onlyWe’re spending the morning have some fun and enjoying the games that Time Zone has on offer. Will then head to the park for a run around before heading back to the pool for a swim and movie!
Ten-Pin Bowling
Ages 5-14 onlyHow many pins will you knock down? Will it be a strike or a gutter ball? Let's see who can get the highest score! We’ll head back to the facility to spend the afternoon swimming and baking.
Masterton Adventure
Ages 5-8 onlyLet’s go to the Go Zone in Masterton where you can burn of as much energy as you conjure the slides and obstacles! After this we will head to Queen Elizabeth Park where we will explore the playground, go for a walk and see the animals. Leaving at 8.30am, returning at 4.30pm.
Chill Out Day
Ages 9-14 onlyCome dressed in your comfy clothes as we will spend the day chilling out enjoying a movie, doing some baking, slime making fun challenges and swimming. A great day to both relax and get active!
Cloud 9 and Swimming at Freyberg Community Pool
Ages 5-14 onlyTime to see if you can jump higher than Harry, do a flip better than Izzy or make it across the obstacle course faster than Kobe, as we spend the morning at Cloud 9. We’ll then head to the Memorial Park for lunch and play before swimming at Freyberg Community Pool. Leaving at 9:30am, returning at 3pm.
Day Rave Pool Party at the Lido
Ages 5-14 onlyWe start the day at the Esplanade for a walk and play, before making our way back to the Lido for the Day Rave Pool Party! You can expect dance competitions, compete in the games and challenges, music, prizes, and have lots of fun with friends!
Junior Constructors
Ages 5-8 onlyLet’s pick up the scissors, glue, tape, maybe some nails, cut that string and see what we can create using some recyclable materials. The guidelines to what you can create is within your imagination. We will be swimming in the afternoon!
Whanganui Trip
Ages 9-14 onlyWe’re heading to Whanganui to spend the morning at Whanganui Riverland where you can go on the Go-Karts, Trampoline Bungee, and have a round of Mini Golf! We’ll then head to the park for lunch and play before finishing the day with a relaxing at the Whanganui Splash Centre. Leaving at 830am, returning at 4pm. Covered shoes are a must!
Back to School Party
Ages 5-14 onlyTime to wrap up the holidays in style as we prepare to head back to school. We will play games, complete in challenges, we'll even provide lunch that we can all share, before finishing the day with a COLOUR RUN!! Remember to WEAR WHITE for the full effect.
