Come down to the Whangarei Aquatic Centre and enrol your children into our exciting Summer School Holiday Programme! These holidays are going to be an epic programme full of adventures, creativity, prizes and of course lots of swimming each day.
Chill Out offers a safe, stimulating and fun environment for your school aged child/children. Our staff are experienced and we are OSCAR and WINZ approved so you may be eligible for a payment subsidy.
The School Holiday Programme operates from 9am-3pm, with additonal Before Care available from 7am-9am and After Care from 3pm-6pm. We offer a wide range of interactive, age appropriate activities throughout the day to keep the children occupied and having fun.
Enrolments fill up fast so you need to get in quick and early to confirm your child's place on the programme. We also strongly encourage those parent/caregivers who are applying for WINZ subsidies to start this process early to avoid disappointment and your subsidy application being declined.
Please bring a packed lunch for the day, water bottle, shoes, and swim wear. We also have avalibility to purchase lunch from the cafe - just let the staff know and order on arrival.

Christmas crafts and Swimming
Ages 5-14 onlyWelcome to the first day of our Summer School Holiday Programme! Today we will be making a number of Christmas crafts that can be used over the festive season. This includes tree ornaments and cards for loved ones. Make sure to pack your togs as we will be heading for a swim in the afternoon!
Picnic at the Park
Ages 5-14 onlyWe will be heading out today to the Town Basin for our Picnic in the Park! You can expect fun on the playground, music and games. We will ensure that we are sun smart while being outside. We will then head back to the Whangarei Aquatic Centre for a dip in the pool!
Chill Out at the Movies
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for an exciting day at the movies! Enjoy a fun film on the big screen with friends, popcorn and fun. It's a chance to relax, enjoy great storytelling and dive into the magic of the cinema. Remember to bring your togs as we'll add to the fun by going for a swim in the afternoon.
A Festive Feast of Fun!
Ages 5-14 onlyGet into the holiday spirit by joining us for a hands - on Christmas food making activity. We'll be making, decorating and creating festive treats. It's a perfect way to spread holiday cheer, get creative, and enjoy delicious goodies. Pack your togs, because after all the fun we'll be diving into an afternoon of swimming and splashing!
A Festive Day of Fun!
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for a Christmas BBQ packed with food, sports and swimming. We'll fire up the BBQ for yummy kai and have some friendly sports competitions. After all the excitement, cool off with a refreshing swim, so don't forget your togs!
Kiwi Kids Rock !
Ages 5-14 onlyKick off the new year with a bang at our Welcome Back Party! Enjoy a tasty BBQ, groove to great music, and challenge your friends in fun games. Plus, we'll be cooling off with a swim - because Kiwi kids know how to have a blast! It's a celebration of friendship, fun and all things awesome. Don't miss the party of the year !
Sports Day !
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for an exciting Sports Day filled with fun competitions like relay races, tug-of-war, and obstacle courses. We’ll also play soccer, golf, and track events, with prizes for the winners. It’s a day of teamwork, friendly competition, and outdoor fun, ending with a swim!
Summer Style !
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready for the summer season with a personalized summer hat! Join us for a fun-filled activity of creativity and relaxation. You'll design and craft your own stylish summer hat, then cool off with a refreshing swim. Perfect for a sunny day, this event combines crafting with a splash of summer fun.
Junior Master Chef
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready to cook, create, and have fun learning to cook! We'll make delicious burgers, sweet lolly cake, and decorate cupcakes like a pro. Perfect for young chefs, it's all about cooking, creativity, and, of course, tasting your yummy creations. We'll then burn off the energy with a splash in the pool!
Pool Party Extravaganza
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for our Day Wave Rave it's a high-energy poolside event filled with music, fun, and non-stop excitement! Spend the day dancing to vibrant beats, splashing in the pool, and riding waves. It’s the perfect mix of cool water, great tunes, and unforgettable moments, creating a lively, thrilling atmosphere all day long!
Adventure to Flip Out
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready to bounce, flip, and soar at the ultimate trampoline park adventure! Whether you're jumping into the air bag, trying out epic tricks, or simply jumping for joy. It's the perfect way to burn off energy and have a blast with friends! Remember your togs, because when we get back, we'll cool down with a relaxing swim.
Experimental Extravaganza
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready for a fun and hands-on science day! We’ll be making slime, creating colourful aqua jars, and even building our own volcanoes that erupt with excitement! It’s a creative and educational experience full of surprises and messy fun!

Lifejacket Lifesavers
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for Boat Safety Day! Learn essential boating safety tips, from proper life jacket use to emergency procedures. Participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations to ensure you’re prepared for any situation on the water. Stay safe, stay smart, and enjoy a secure boating experience! Make sure to bring your togs for a swim in the afternoon !
Craft & Chill
Ages 5-14 onlyA crafts day is a fun, creative event where people gather to explore various craft projects like painting or paper crafts. With supplies like paints, yarn, and beads, participants can follow instructions or get creative on their own. It's a relaxing, social day filled with laughter and the joy of making handmade items. Remember your togs as we'll be spending the afternoon in the pool.
Tag-Rugby Fun!
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for an action-packed day of tag rugby! Get ready to run, dodge, and score in this fun, non-contact game where everyone can play! Perfect for kids of all skill levels, our Tag Rugby Fun Day is all about teamwork, sportsmanship, and having a blast. We will cool off with an afternoon swim, so don't forget your togs!
Once Upon a Disney
Ages 5-14 onlyA Disney-Themed Day is a great way to create a magical and immersive experience for participants of all ages. The combination of Disney movies, fun activities, character interaction, and creative contests ensures everyone will leave with magical memories!
Day at the Museum !
Ages 5-14 onlyWe’ll be traveling by bus to the Heritage Park Museum for a day of exploring art, history, or science. Enjoy the exhibits, join a guided tour, and participate in interactive activities. Afterward, we’ll head back and cool off with a swim. It’s a fun and educational day out!
Poolside Palooza
Ages 5-14 onlyOur summer day wave rave is a splash-tacular day packed with games, cool floats, and awesome music! We’ll be in the pool for most of the day, swimming, splashing, and having a blast, so be sure to bring an extra towel to stay dry between dips. It’s the perfect day to cool off, make waves with friends, and enjoy tons of fun
Ten Pin Bowling & Lazer Tag
Ages 5-14 onlyGet ready for double the fun with our Bowling & Lazer Tag combo! Start by rolling strikes and spares in a friendly bowling match, then gear up for an epic Lazer tag battle. We'll then come back, unwind and cool off with a relaxing dip in the pool!
Sundae Spectacular
Ages 5-14 onlyIce Cream Sundae Day is a fun celebration where everyone can create their perfect sundae with a variety of ice cream flavors and toppings like fudge, sprinkles, and whipped cream. It’s a sweet, interactive event for all ages, filled with indulgence and joy! We will then burn off all that sugar with a swim in the pool !
Movie Mania
Ages 5-14 onlyA Day at the Cinema for kids is a fun event where children enjoy exciting movies with popcorn and comfy seats. After the big screen adventure, we’ll make a splash with some swim-time fun, jumping into the water for a cool and refreshing swim! It’s the perfect way to mix movie magic with some active, splash-tastic excitement!
Pizza & Pool Party Extravaganza!
Ages 5-14 onlyJoin us for the ultimate summer hangout! We’ll kick things off by sharing some delicious pizza, loaded with all your favourite toppings.
