Chill Out Guidelines – Under All Traffic Light Settings

 Contact Tracing

As usual, all children must be signed in and out of the programme every day. Each parent must clearly write their full name when picking up their child for contact tracing requirements.

Hand Washing

Children will be required to wash hands prior to entering the facility, before eating, after toileting, and after any activities that requires handing of equipment.

Cleaning

All contact surface areas will be cleaned daily - this includes doors/handles, food equipment, activity equipment, tables, chairs.

Toilets

Regular cleaning and checks will be done of facility toilets to ensure high hygiene standards.

Activities

Implementing more activities that encourages physical distancing (outside play, non-contact sports). Try to avoid children touching or breathing on each other during the programme.

Van Transport

We will keep an accurate list of the children being transported in vans each day to enable contact tracing.

Hand sanitisers will be available for each student to use as they enter and exit the vehicle.

Staff will sanitize contact areas after each journey (door handles, booster seats, hand rails) Seats beside the driver will be kept empty.

Children are not required to wear masks during transportation.

'School Bubbles' will sit beside each other. If there are two different 'School Bubbles' in the van, there will be a seat in between them.

Drop Offs and Pick Ups

Some programmes may have a door leading outside where the drop off and pick ups can be completed. This wouldn’t require anyone to enter our facility.

In the event where a direct door leading outdoors cannot be provided, the parent/caregiver must scan in at reception. If unvaccinated, a staff member will escort the child to reception for collection.

Parents to hand sanitise when entering/exiting the building when picking up children.

Parents are asked to bring a pen each day to sign child in/out.

Parents to meet outside programme room to collect their child where possible.

Food Preparation

All staff will wear masks, gloves and ensure all surfaces are thoroughly disinfected prior to food preparation. Staff will have children sitting down appropriately spaced and take food to the children so children are kept away from food.

All equipment will be disinfected at the end of each day. Food will be served on individual plates, or paper towels. Children will not share plates or utensils.

Sickness

Any child or staff member who is displaying symptoms of being unwell will be sent home immediately.

Educate

Regular educating of expectations to children - how to wash hands, surfaces to be aware of, keeping your distance.
